Procedures: Injectables

What are injectables?

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators (commonly known by the names Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport) are a simple, nonsurgical treatments consisting of injections directly into the muscles. The neuromodulators work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles allowing the muscles to relax. The relaxation of the muscle eliminates the cause of the creases and lines so they resolve.

When will I see results from neuromodulators injections?

Juvederm Injections

Within days, you may notice a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles in treated areas. For up to 30 days lines will continue to improve, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary.

Are injectables painful?

Novathreads

Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, we offer to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Most patients experience no downtime and are in and out of the office following treatment.

Do results differ?

Kybella Injections

Yes, individual results may vary. For the best results, it’s essential to go to a provider who is experienced in and specializes in administering the neuromodulators. Our providers specialize in Cosmetic Dermatology, treating thousands of patients every year with excellent results.

How do Neuromodulators work?

Neuromodulators work by blocking nerve impulses to injected muscles; this reduces muscle activity that can cause persistent wrinkles and lines to form in treated areas. When you concentrate, frown, or squint the muscles cause your skin to furrow and fold. After years of frequent contraction, those wrinkles can linger even after the muscles are at rest.

Dermal Fillers

Juvederm XC, Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Belotero, Radiesse and Sculptra: What you can expect after treatment with dermal fillers is an immediate softening of folds and creases, with continued collagen stimulation that will last 9-12 months on average. There is no notable downtime with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers typically take a couple of weeks to settle in before you can enjoy the final result of your procedure.
NovaThreads: The NovaThreads are blunt tipped cannulas pre-loaded with a PDO thread. We simply insert the whole cannula in the interstitial tissue at the subdermal level, parallel to the surface of the skin, and leave the thread. The PDO thread remains under the skin. In medical terms Selective Inflammatory Response (SIR), it is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures. Our skin is very good at mending itself, and by inserting NovaThreads, we make it repair itself by creating new collagen, naturally. Our skin gently reacts to the inserted PDO threads which are fully absorbable. It will take approximately 4 to 6 months to absorb the PDO suture; your skin is also repairing itself around it. Controlled healing is happening beneath the surface of your skin.
Kybella: Kybella consists of deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule found in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into fat, Kybella destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

What are typical side effects of dermal filler treatments?

Each patient will react differently to the to the injection process. Common side effects are potential bruising, tenderness, and swelling at the treatment site, which can last up to two weeks. You should not use dermal fillers if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or if you are scheduled for any dental work within two weeks. You should refrain from the use of aspirin products, fish oil and red wine a few days before your appointment to significantly reduce the likelihood and duration of side effects.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the treatment patients will begin to see results immediately and up to 6-8 weeks after their treatment.
