While our medical professionals provide a full range of clinical and cosmetic dermatology services, Dr. Goffe is best known for innovations in psoriasis treatment and research. In fact, Dr. Goffe, with Dr. Phil Mease, was the first dermatologist in the United States to use Enbrel® (etanercept) to treat psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The prestigious Lancet medical journal published the groundbreaking research by Doctors Goffe and Mease regarding Enbrel® and psoriasis in July 2000. , recently became the first clinic in Seattle to add the new Pharos™ (excimer) laser to its treatments for vitiligo and psoriasis.

Pharos™ Excimer Laser

If you suffer from psoriasis, you know the frustration of stubborn skin plaques that may not respond to gels or creams and hours spent in phototherapy. Finally, a new treatment is available that may result in long lasting, effective relief from the painful, disfiguring symptoms of psoriasis.

With the revolutionary Pharos™ excimer laser system, you can feel good about yourself again. Based on several studies published in medical journals, just a few minutes with Pharos™ in a series of twice-a-week treatments may improve your condition.

The Pharos™ XL Plus Laser treats scaly skin plaques quickly and effectively, often in just 6-12 brief treatment sessions. It is ideal for those with psoriasis on less then 5% of their body and also for those with a history of skin cancer. It also provides long-lasting relief, typically several months free of symptoms. The Pharos™ uses a carefully focused beam of light, delivered through a sophisticated fiber-optic device that helps prevent exposing healthy skin to harmful ultraviolet rays.

Furthermore, most health insurance plans including Medicare, Regence BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, State Farm, Tri Care and many others are very likely to cover this treatment.
