PDT Treatment for Actinic Keratosis (AK)!

The Levulan® Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) System is a 2-part process that utilizes both the Levulan® Kerastick topical solution and the Blu-U Light Treatment. This process can be used to treat AKs (Actinic Keratosis), sun damaged skin and Sebaceous Hyperplasia. This is an effective, non-invasive treatment. Levulan has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of AKs. This is not a laser. It emits a safe, visible, blue light.

Blu-U treatment is a process by which a photosensitizing agent (Levulan) is applied to your skin. The Levulan is then activated with a specific wavelength of light. Levulan is a 20% solution of Aminolevulinic Acid (ALA). ALA is a natural substance found throughout your body, as it is a precursor for hemoglobin synthesis. Patients typically require up to 8 treatments approximately 4-6 weeks apart.
